Background of the Study
Nutrition workshops play a critical role in promoting healthy eating habits by educating individuals on proper dietary choices, meal planning, and the prevention of diet-related diseases. These workshops, often conducted by health professionals, aim to enhance public awareness of balanced diets and the importance of nutrition for overall well-being. Research has shown that structured nutrition education programs improve individuals' knowledge and encourage healthier dietary behaviors.
In Kebbi State, where dietary habits are influenced by cultural and economic factors, nutrition workshops can be instrumental in addressing common nutrition-related health issues such as malnutrition, obesity, and diet-induced chronic diseases. However, the effectiveness of these workshops in transforming eating behaviors remains largely unexamined. This study investigates how nutrition workshops influence healthy eating habits among residents of Kebbi State.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the increasing prevalence of nutrition-related diseases, many individuals in Kebbi State lack proper knowledge about healthy eating. Poor dietary choices contribute to the rising burden of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. Although nutrition workshops aim to improve dietary habits, their actual impact on the community remains uncertain. This study assesses whether these workshops effectively translate into healthier eating behaviors.
